Chilly Start, Sunshine Finish: A Successful Lady Grady Event!

The crisp morning air couldn't dampen the spirits of the 89 ladies who teed off for our second Lady Grady event at the stunning Byron Bay Golf Club.  Bundled up in layers, they tackled a course in pristine condition, with fairways dry and water levels considerably lower than the challenging conditions faced in 2022.

As the sun climbed higher, so did the competitive spirit. Sunday's scores were fierce, with Kerry Parker taking the top spot with an impressive Stableford score of 40 points!    But beyond the competition, the camaraderie and supportive atmosphere truly defined the event. “It’s so nice to meet and play with ladies from different clubs” perfectly captures the essence of the event.

We were overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and participants. The auction, featuring incredible items like rounds at premier golf courses, putters, head covers, golf lesson with Mark Gibson and many more, raised a staggering $2,500!    All proceeds, along with those from the raffle tickets and 100 boards, will go directly towards Down Syndrome Queensland, an organization dedicated to supporting people with Down Syndrome and their families.

Our immense gratitude goes to Sue Charles and Greg Stewart, whose teams' tireless efforts ensured the event ran smoothly.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated!  We look forward to seeing you again next year.
