Lady Grady’s first event at Byron Bay was an outstanding success!

A field of 88 ladies braved a soaking wet course and damp conditions on Sunday, May 15th playing a Single Stableford event. Despite a few carts getting bogged, very wet shoes and at times walking through mud, they fronted up again on Monday, May 16th for an 8am shotgun start playing an Elimination Ambrose.

Fortunately, Monday was a gorgeous sunny day with course conditions marginally better, teeing up an option and several holes with the tee boxes advanced down the fairway!! Everyone agreed that the course is beautifully picturesque and would be a joy to play in drier conditions.

Our sincere thanks goes to the Byron Bay Golf Club for allowing our event to go ahead with carts on the course. They kindly considered that 99% of attendees had either paid deposits or paid in full for their accommodation which was mostly non-refundable.

Special thanks to those who supported the raffle and 100 boards. As always Down Syndrome Qld are the beneficiaries of your generosity.
